Rhythm in the Right Hand

This is one way to create a strong rhythmical pulse in the right hand. It is especially effective in some traditional reels from the Southern States of America or related tunes.

Refer to the picture below and develop the method by rocking your right hand between the lower note and the three (or two or four depending on your skill and hand span) that define the chord.


The picture indicates where the bass note is played by the letter under the staff and the slash denotes the chord. It would be better if you could alternate the bass notes using the first (e.g., G) with the fifth of that scale (in this case, D) to generate a walking bass.
